~My beautiful & lovely Courtney~

We spent our NY's Day at Mimi & Pop's house for lunch. Pork tenderloin, cabbage, black eyed peas, okra & tomatoes, dirty rice, and corn bread....oh, and banana pudding. My very oldest friend (we're talking third grade) on the planet, Courtney, visited today with her husband who is on pre-deployment leave and headed back to Afghanistan. Courtney is a diplomat with the State Department and is on a year's leave and fresh from her most recent post in Vietnam. Prior to that it was Uganda, I believe. Prior to that, hhhmm...I dunno. The good news is, after a trip to Hawaii to visit her parents, she'll be back in the states for two years! Thank goodness she married a Texas boy, or else we may never have seen her again! Being the good AF Brat that she is, she's hard to nail down. We spent the day remembering our days in 87109 together, and then later as her family was transferred all over the globe only to end up back in our own backyard (B'dale) as we were transferred to this area as well. We're just destined to be together, I guess. What a day we had...laughing and catching up! Such a treat.
