PDaddy's photos were cancelled this eve due to rain, so he grilled pork chops and some veggies. Someone gave us a box of fresh garden veggies, so I sauteed squash, sliced tomatoes, etc. It was quite tasty. The kids and I made sugar cookies after supper while it rained, so we're all fat and happy now. After supper, I sat on the back porch and talked to Wallace. I swear that rabbit used to be someone's pet. He just hops right up to you as if he doesn't have a care in the world.
My mom will be having a fairly invasive breast procedure on Friday. Please remember Mrs. Pearl in your prayers. Most of you know what a trial her boobs have been during the last couple of years, and this is just one more episode it seems. Hopefully all will be well. We will be able to do Sophy's pre-op stuff by phone on Friday, so luckily we don't have to deal with that. PDaddy and I have plans on Friday to celebrate his birthday sans children. The plan is to have lunch at Carrabas and catch an early movie. I think we may see Get Smart, but that is up for debate at this point. Saturday will be an early morning again as we head to Nacogdoches for our next swim meet, and Jack will also turn TEN that day. The party will be on Sunday after church. Sophy's tonsillectomy (how do you spell that) is on Monday morning, and we will leave Thursday morning for Hot Springs to see PDaddy's daddy if Sophy recovers nicely. PDaddy's dad and step-mom live on the lake at Hot Springs Village, so we'll be spending lots of time on the water, in a boat, fishing, etc. Our fishing on the camping trip was disappointing to say the very least, so they will be excited to catch anything with gills and fins. PDaddy's dad says that the fish are plentiful and huge right off of their dock, so maybe we'll get to eat some of those guys! We hope to be there for the 4th to see the fireworks from the lake, but it all depends on Sophy's recovery, I suppose. Sam had an amazingly quick recovery after his tonsil surgery a few years ago, so we're hoping to be so fortunate again. Ha!
