My dear sis in law sent me a package that lifted my spirits (but will probably cause my butt to drag the ground) and brought a tear to my world weary eye. Sweetheart that she is, and how she manages to hang with our family I'll never know, mailed me a care package of her ridiculously buttery, iced sugar cookies. The smell wafting from the box was intoxicating, and when I saw them, pumpkins, butterflies, sunflowers, etc. (Aren't they beautiful?? They were just as yummy.) in all their fall glory, well, it just made life a little sweeter. Other than my mama who frequently leaves a pot of chicken in dumplings in my car after school or a plate of cookies for the kids, God love her, treats on my doorstop are non-existant. Very nicely done. Thanks, Miss! Nicest thing someone has done for me in a long time~
(Spending the evening at home while DaddyP shoots a homecoming game. Sam's last game is tomorrow, and it's a home game. Very excited about that. Jack is planning to go to his first school dance tomorrow night, and I plan on looking for tickets for shows or activities for our Christmas vacation with the kids. Workshop with a teaching friend on Monday....a day away from school, no doubt, but I'd rather be with my awesome students! Yet another exceptional group of kids that I look forward to seeing every day (totally not being sarcastic)...I love those kids, every one. Oh well, at least we'll get to shop and do lunch!)
