This week, the next, and the one after that.

This weekend is shaping up to be fairly uneventful. With nothing but a hair cut and color on the books, the kids and I will just be chilling. PDaddy has a corporate Christmas party to shoot tonight at the University Club in downtown Shreveport. Yeah, don't remind me that I was the hired help for this shin dig, but I bailed on him at the last minute. Luckily, he has a helper that will be there. After 40+ hours of 120 6th and 7th graders each day, I just really didn't think it would be good for his business to turn me loose on a crowd of festive party-goers. Chancers are I'd either be too festive with them, or decidedly NOT festive. SO! I've opted to stay home with the kids. We're going to have movie night and make sugar cookies after supper & bath. Oh, and I'm going to whip up a batch of Chex Almond Mix that I finally found the recipe for. I am NOT a Chex fan, but this stuff is addictive. The last time I was near a bowl of it, I ate myself sick. It's very sweet and sticky, and oh my word good. Let's see...Saturday and Sunday should be spent wrapping some gifts, but I think I'll save that for December 23rd. That is when I do my best work.
I "volunteered" to help next week when Sam's class constructs gingerbread houses. OY! Sophy has a book parade where she has to dress up like a character from her favorite book and design a large book cover from that book to carry around during the parade. She decided on a story that has a gull and a crane (the bird) in it. I know, right. A crane? Way to choose something easy, Soph! I'm trying like the dickens to convince her to be one of the other characters from the story, but she isn't buying what I'm sellng. SHOOT!
Friday is an early release day, and then we head out to Dallas next weekend for King Tut and ice skating and a smidge of shopping. We'll be home on the evening of the 23rd. Just in time to wrap presents and get Santa in order. My mom is having foot surgery a few days after Christmas, so I'll be on hand to help out with the recoop after that. Then the following weekend, we wil be going to Natchitoches for our anniversary. And by that I mean, PDaddy has a wedding to shoot in Natchitoches, so we decided to stay here and make a weekend of it. I've never actually been to Natchitoches, so it should be a fast & neat little trip. We'll line up some little diddies while we're there to see/do, and PDaddy has some friends there that want to meet up with us. We shall see.
I'm off to help Sophy cook supper! Toodles~
