PDaddy and I made it to town early enough to hit Toys R Us (oh, you know how fun that place is) before the crowds hit. Luckily, TRUs opens up pretty early during the Saturdays in December, so we had our list finished and paid for by the time the crazy people were showing up. We found pretty much all we were looking for, which wasn't much, considering that we bought most of our gifts online Black Monday (Amazon was having crazy sales and FREE shipping--and we received all of it within 48 hours. How crazy is that?) Anyway, we did get Jack an IPod. We debated back and forth, but he really loves songs/music, and it's something that he will really get to use a lot during swim season while we spend lots of time waiting at swim meets. Plus, we got him an ICoaster, and that little contraption hooks up to the IPod. Can I just say right now that I am already missing the years of having little kids that A.) Didn't care what they got for Christmas and were just ecstatic that something had wrapping paper on it, and B.) Were made happy with toy trains and blocks. Those days are quickly morphing into, "Gee, I really want a Wii, an Ipod, games for my Nintendo DS, and oh, while you're at it, I'd like a flat screen TV for my room and my very own Mustang GT to drive when I'm 16." Oy! Know what I like about me? The fact that purchasing more than one thing on that list isn't likely. Ha!
Where was I? After TRUs, PDaddy kicked me to the curb at the mall while he went to take engagement photos in town. I picked up all of the gifts that were on his Dear Santa letter (you think I'm kidding), hit Claire's to pick up Sophy some hair accessories, necklaces, etc. and to use the $20 off (uh-huh) coupon for there that I had. Got a few gifts wrapped up at Dillards just in time for PDaddy to phone and say he was waiting in the parking lot, so off we whisked to Best Buy to look for some things, Target to pick up some things, the jewelry store to order Sophy a necklace and to have my rings cleaned and to drool over the ruby ring that I want that costs $8,000. Haha, yeah. That's not a likely purchase anytime soon
or ever . PDaddy wanted to get the pups a few things at Pet Smart, so we went and played with animal shelter pets that were there trying to find new homes, the 14 dogs that were there with their owners buying puppy goodies, and one ferret that was riding in some woman's purse. Gee, what a great aroma her purse must have. YIKES! I fell in love with a black and white border collie named Sophie that was the sweetest little girl in need of a rescue, but alas, no such doggie for the Pinkie house, but oh was she sweet. Sniff, sniff.
We stopped for lunch at Carrabas, headed to Dick's (straight face) for a giftie and Jack some swim flippers, JCPenney's for a gift card, and the book store for a gift card and some gifts for my CousinS and Jack. Oh, did I forget to mention that the $12 Door Buster Jean Blow Out at Old Navy for the Whole Family is such blatant false advertising? Yeah. Seems that it's only jeans that are hanging up and only for men/women. I did not be nice to those people today. And I did not buy their Non-$12 jeans. So there.
The kids are in bed WAY early tonight, and I'm about to spread out all that I bought to figure out what needs wrapping, what is from Santa and needs to be covertly absconded into the attic (hahaha, I just typed addict), etc. Not to mention the bowl of Lucky Charms that I intend to eat.
Tomorrow we are headed to the Nutcracker, so I'll post pics sometime soon!
Ciao~
