Day #1 of 30 Days in Photos

I apologize that my first photo in my stolen neato, 30-day-photo theme turns out to be of a dead bird. Still, it's a pretty, dead bird. Bless his heart.
With a horrible storm that is threatening snow and ice barreling down on East Texas, my yard this afternnon after school was filled with a rainbow mix of sweet, little birdies. They were frantically trying to eat every scrap of birdseed in our yard. It's no strange thing for our yard to be filled with birds. I love, love birds, and I try to plant berries for them and plants/flowers that they will like. Anyway, this gorgeous fellow hit our glass door and broke his leg and neck. When I found him, he was dying so slowly. I brought him out of the sleet and wind and just let him die in warmth. It was so, so sad. It took him about 3 hours to die. The saddest thing of all was when he started making strange clicking noises and making several final, desperate efforts to fly away. Oh, it was so sad. Jack snapped this photo of him before PDaddy handled the burial arrangements.
