It's thrilling to be able to tell you this. Truly. That my favorite children love my favorite movies. Or is it the fact that my kids are finally at an age to appreciate a movie (with real actors) that is so thrilling? We had a movie marathon late last night while we recup from vomit, croup, and sinus infections. It's the first time that our family Movie Night has consisted of non-kid-flicks, unless you count Shark Boy and Lava Girl...which I do not. Ahhhhhh, I say, for it was wonderful watching Home Alone and Home Alone 2 with the kids. They were enthralled, captured, giggling, and it was great. All 3 were shouting at the bad guys, cringing at the appropriate parts, and lamenting when Kevin McAlister misplaced his parents---both times. We did have to question the intelligence of our movie choice....Sam was awfully quiet at some very disturbing times of the movie...contemplating....figuring....planning. Like the part where Kevin tied a rope to a 100 pound cement bag that was to be pulled onto the head of the bad guy...or when he soaked a rope in kerosene so he could light it up when the bad guys started to climb down....sure, we could've made a more responsible movie choice. But would it have been as much fun? I don't think so.
Now I'm considered all the other movie possibiblites out there! Back To the Future (all three!!!), Raiders of the Lost Ark, ahhhhh.......hoorah for movies.
Speaking of, we've promised the kids a trip to see Charlotte's Web at the theatre this week. Hope it's a good one....even if there are no kerosene soaked ropes and exploding toilets.

I too am glad the kids are old enough to watch some of my old favorites. We have been watching the Star Wars movies in order starting with the new ones and are now on the ones I grew up with. Cooper got a bunch of Star Wars transformers for his birthday and we have been playing Star Wars ever since. Cassidy even uses her Lilo and Stitch dolls to play Star Wars. LOL
