Little Man Sam started running a high temp on Thursday night, and it's been a rough couple of days since then. His spirits have been up, but we were very concerned about him a time or two. When Sam gets still and quiet, it's time to pay attention. So far today, his temp is around 100, which is low considering where it has been. Hopefully we're on the downhill side of this. Most of his symptoms were very flu-like, so who knows? He has been one sick fellow. So, here we are at home. Again.
I thought I'd use the time today (when I'm not tying Sam down to the couch in order to rest) to get caught up on some phone calling, Lysol scrubbing. We recently found out that the league we play tball/baseball with will not be operating this Spring. WHAT?!?! We haven't begun to tell the boys yet. They will be crushed. There are other leagues nearby, but all of our friends play in the old league. We're not sure what we'll do, but we have to decide soon. The nearest league ends it's sign ups this week. Jack is still getting ready for some Fun Runs later on this Spring and a triathalon at the beginning of the summer, so we'll have that to keep him busy. I'm very interested in the swim team in our area or possibly getting them in a kid's gym program. This past summer was very interesting for me because it was the first year that I felt that I had big kids that I had to 'entertain.' The days we didn't find a pool or an outside activity (on days that it wasnt' 120 degrees), the kids were happy to just watch tv or wander around the yard. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem turning them loose with their own imaginations, but sometimes unstructured imagination can be dangerous...at least at our house. Until we can afford an inground pool (hopefully in the next 3-4 years), we will be chasing summer activities. I don't want my kids growing up with their noses stuck to a television screen and their heart rates below 55 beats per minute. Hehe. Gee, do I digress, or what? And what is with my grammar, run-on sentences, and such today? Oh well. It's a sick day. So there (sticking my tongue out at you.)
Plans are still under way for The Greatest Tree House Ever Built '07. If no one pukes or runs a fever during the week of Spring Break, we will be building a tree house. I am so excited about this project. The kids are beyond excited about this project. Garden Daddy is a little less than thrilled, but he'll get over it! HAHA! The kids have the days marked on the calendar and are counting down, so he really has no choice but to comply with our wishes! Poor guy.
This post has taken me about 2 hours to finish due to various children running around (Sophy has a pair of panties on her head) when they should be resting. I better wrap this up.
